As a young newspaper boy in Shreveport Louisiana. Raymond E. Smith Sr. got a chance to peer into many homes that had a luster of freshly installed and well maintained hardwood floors, representing a status symbol for home owners in 1940's Shreveport. This experience made a lifelong impression on him. After moving to Northwest Arkansas he started, Smith Hardwood Floors, a family business devoted to installation and upkeep of quality hardwood floors.
